The Boneyard Project : Tucson

“The Boneyard Project is not simply a unique opportunity to give major contemporary artists an amazing canvas of being able to make art out of a plane, it is a chance for us all to examine our own cultural relationship to airplanes and to the archetypal ideal of traveling through the skies.”

Calling all ARTISTS!!!

Current CALL FOR ARTISTS page is up and calling out to you.

One open call for B-SIDE Gallery and two open calls for mural projects.

If the mural programs prove to be a successful community action, we will attempt to intact a non-profit mural program for the City of  Tempe and Phoenix. Mural projects often include stabilization of abandoned lots and revitalization of open spaces. Our community partners will include block captains, neighborhood associations, public schools, community development corporations, local nonprofits, and city agencies. We will strive to coordinate mural projects with existing strategies for community development, thereby leveraging grassroots social capital to build positive momentum and stronger results. The program will use an intensive curriculum that involves mural-making as a dynamic means to engage youth and to teach transferable life and job skills such as taking personal responsibility, teamwork, and creative problem-solving.  It will provide opportunities for artists with a variety of skills to work together to create murals. We also strive to employ an ethnically diverse group of artists. Drawing on the styles of artists from different cultures, the murals will reflect Arizona’s wonderfully diverse neighborhoods.

We are looking for dedicated community leaders and artists. Also, looking for someone that has experience in grant writing. If you have any interest …

Please contact WETPAINTAZ@gmail.com to get involved.

Thank you,

Jessica Jordan : Owner/Operator of Wet Paint Art Supply & Gallery

Final Friday December 30th, 2011

Sorry if you missed it.

We kept this on the hush.

BUNDLE UP with Tenski & Friends ….

Bundle up was a hit and our biggest turn out yet.  I am sensing Wet Paint is going to have to put the shop displays back on wheels, just like we did at our old spot.  Roll it away, toss up the curtains and have a party.

Thanks to Tenski and all of TAF and DIRT Crew of AZ for a great time. It has been a while since a group like this has been together in one place. Wet Paint would like to thank everyone for coming out. Sorry the beer went so quick this round… That didn’t seem to matter though. The good old Circle K helped out with tall cans and brown paper bags.

Wet Paint is a neutral territory. Wet Paint is not associated with any crews or specific writers of any sort. All are welcome. There are to many bare walls in AZ to be beefing with each other. Grow up and get over it.

Every Final Friday, we have the good shit.

Keep up with that is happening on our B-Side Gallery Page.
