ARTish exists to provide a cohesiveness to the art scene in the Phoenix Metro area. Although ARTish was developed and is maintained by Tony Ash, ARTish is not one person or entity, but a community. It is the collective cooperation and participation of the ARTs community that will determine the direction and the potential of the site. ARTish intends to introduce opportunities where there would otherwise be none. ARTish is and will remain free for ARTists so that they may have an opportunity to enable themselves.

Artlink inc. is one of the oldest artist-run, all volunteer arts organizations in downtown Phoenix. Since 1989, we have Phoenix's biggest annual artwalk, Art Detour. In 1994, we began the monthly First Fridays artwalk, which has grown to become the largest monthly artwalk in the United States. With 100 arts venues open free to the public each month, artlink's First Fridays has succeeded in bringing people back to downtown Phoenix.

C.O.L.A.B. Colltectively Operated Local Artist Boutique. You may know of C.O.L.A.B. as the Downstairs, but with a new location came a new name one that better represents who we are. The new space is at Anti-space on the corner of 4th St and McKinley, 718 N 4th St. in downtown Phoenix. This location has double the space plus our own storefront. Our hours are Wed-Fri 6-10 and Sat-Sun 2-10. We are a group of designers, artists, and creative spirits who have come together to bring our wares to the public without the added costs of a traditional store. This means affordable handmade wares for the people. We feature over a dozen local designers, plus we showcase an artist of the month. Our work includes handmade, vintage, and reconstructed clothing, jewelry, handbags, wallets, hats, lingerie, books, art and more.

I see painting as the purest discourse between a creator and his or her audience. I like being able to tell a story where I am able to present a character and a world without the hinderences of a written or spoken language. Painting is the manipulation of color and form to suggest an image with which an audience can identify. It is a way of tricking people to see something that in all actuality is not there. There is a certain sense of personal energy that a canvas can become imbued with that the audience perceives on a subconscious level. This is something I love about painting. It is a language that goes beyond our day-to-day lives.

Lymbyc Systym
Hailing from Tempe, Arizona, Jared and Michael Bell formed Lymbyc Systym late in 2001. Drawing inspiration from the groups Tortoise, My Bloody Valentine and Four Tet, their compositions cleverly combine vintage keyboards, infectious melodies, analog effects, dynamic drumming, and intricate laptop programming to form melodic and cohesive tracks that blur the borders between post-rock, indie-rock, and folktronica. As the opening act for the Album Leaf, Mice Parade, and a slew of other national acts, the brothers have developed a truly impressive live show. From their self-release debut EP, Carved by Glaciers, to the current music for Mush Records, Lymbyc Systym have quickly carved out a place in the bustling underground music scene.
